7:00 Welcome people at home, Introductions, Announcements, Agenda, Ground Rules.

7:05 Discussion with Elected and Appointed Officials about city issues. Residents invited to comment, ask questions.

7:40  PROGRAM: Friends of Burlington Gardens and Urban Agriculture Task Force
  • Jess Hyman is Executive Director of Friends of Burlington Gardens (FBG), a nonprofit organization that supports community, school, and neighborhood gardening in Burlington and across Vermont. Friends of Burlington Gardens was founded in the New North End in 1996
  • Alison Nihart is a Masters Student at the Rubenstein School of Environment and Natural Resources at UVM. The Urban Agriculture Task Force is engaged in a research and public participation process to determine the needs of city residents regarding urban agriculture. They will recommended best practices to City Council, based on community research and what has worked in other cities. At this point, they want to share their plan and gather input on issues, which will inform our research process. We’ll do a blurt to get people's juices flowing.
