NORTH END NPA STEERING COMMITTEE HOSTS ALL-WARDS AT THE MILLER CENTER

Senada is back -- Yea!!!!
Livable City 4 Dogs recruits a new member in ward 7.
After dinner we get down to business. Topic: community policing.
Sequoia and Annika are very active
youth members from Wards 5 and 6.
Tom, Dale, Senada, Lea, Pat, Loyal made the tournament finals.
Jason, Carole, Roy and Ron were eliminated in the first round.
Councilors Decelles, Hartnett, and Dober introduce themselves,
welcome everyone, and talk about why they serve on Council.

Steering committee members from all the wards gather
to discuss issues that impact all the neighborhoods.
All Wards NPA meets quarterly, rotating locations in the wards. March meeting was at the Miller Center, in the children's room. We hosted our City Councilors with a pot luck supper -- a chance for them to get to know the NPA steering committee members from other wards, and for everyone to get to know the personal side of our councilors who are our neighbors and friends. Chief Shirling and BPD Community Policing officers joined us. Discussion of leash laws was timely, as Loyal had been attacked on the job earlier that day. Officer Higgens took a report on the spot.
Chief Shirling introduces officers, and explains how
community policing works in Burlington.
Community policing involves everyone, and encourages
face to face interaction between police and citizens,
for example at NPA meetings.
